How do I mount climbing holds on leca concrete or ytong?

Gas concrete, leca concrete, ytong and air bricks are very porous materials, and we advise against mounting climbing holds directly on these wall types.

Instead, we recommend putting the climbing holds on a plywood board and then mounting the board on the wall. There are two types of raw plugs that are suitable for mounting on aerated concrete walls, leca concrete and air bricks: double-length superrawplugs and specialrawplugs. They can be purchased in most hardware stores. The package states how much weight the individual type of raw plug can hold. We recommend that you let the plate board sit against the floor or foot panel below. This way the vast majority of forces are transferred directly to the floor relieving the wall.

If you still want to try to put the climbing holds directly on the leca or ytong, you can use our Screw set 10 pcs 8 x 80mm screws with nylon plugs. However, we can not guarantee the result as the porosity of these materials may vary.
