Slings for climbing

Here on the site, we have gathered a wide selection of climbing slings from Rock Empire and Skylotec. If you are new to climbing, the use of the various slides may seem a little obscure. This can make the choice of slings difficult. We have therefore made this small overview of the different slings:

Open slings

Our open slings are made of nylon/polyamide and have a width of either 16 mm or 20 mm. The open loops are available in the following lengths: 60 cm, 80 cm, 100 cm, 120 cm, 180 cm and 240 cm. The long slings are used for securing in connection with outdoor climbing and tree climbing, for waistcoats and exchanges, but the short slings are good to have if you need to extend their slings.

Dyneema slings

It is also an open sling, simply made by Dyneema. Dyneema is a lightweight and extremely strong material, so even though the width of a Dyneema sling is only 8-10 mm, it has the same breaking strength as the wider nylon/polyamide sling. The Dyneema slings weigh significantly less than other slings and are therefore well suited for rock climbing where weight optimization is really crucial. Lengths: 30 cm, 60 cm, 80 cm, 120 cm and 240 cm

Express Slings

An express sling is a small stitched nylon sling, designed to put a carabine at each end - also called quickdraw or fast sling. They are sold separately without a carabiner because it is recommended that you change your sling every two years. The loop is available in 11 cm, 16 cm, and 25 cm length.

Express Slings, Dyneema

The Dyneema express sling weighs half of what a regular express sling weighs, but has the same breaking strength as regular nylon sling. Also, the Dyneema express sling should be replaced every two years. It is available in the following lengths: 11 cm, 16 cm, 18 cm and 25 cm

All slings are approved under the CE mark or UIAA.
