Lory PRO Belay Device
Lory PRO is a robust and multifunctional device for belaying and rappelling for both industrial use and sport climbing. Unlike Lory, which is reserved for sports climbing. The areas of use for the Lory PRO range from simple rope handling, work positioning for roofs, edges and repair work at height of semi-automatic safety unit and rescue rappeling and other rappelling.
Its wide range of use and solid design make it your reliable companion during rescue and rope handling in harsh environments. A maximum load of 225 kg allows Lory PRO to be safely used for rescue.
The difference between Lory and Lory PRO:
Lory PRO has unobstructed jaw rotation which means that any load without active opening of the handle will trigger the rope to lock. This allows you to safely secure yourself in a working position far above the ground, without the risk of falling if you lose your balance. At the same time, you can move around and work as long as you actively use Lory PRO. To let the rope slide through the belay device, simply open the handle on the side and the rope can be released. The rope can always slide downwards through the belay device, so you can tighten the rope yourself by climbing upwards.
When you pull the loaded end of the rope the jaw will grab the rope and wedge it tight. Pulling the handle down, Lory will gradually release the rope. If the handle is pulled fully (in panic), the double stop function is triggered and the rope is blocked again. To continue downward, place the lever back in the closed position and restart the process.
Lory is available in two editions:
- Lory PRO with unobstructed movement of the jaw (for industrial use)
- Lory with obstructed movement of the jaw, which helps one to secure the rope (for sports use).
